The Southwest Regional Planning Agency (SWRPA) is working with the MRWC to develop a watershed management plan for the Mianus River. SWRPA has funding from EPA/CT DEP to coordinate the preparation of the plan. Nicole Davis of SWRPA is the project manager. She met with the MRWC Board of Directors on September 23, 2009 to review the strategy for developing the plan. For more information click here.

MRWC is working with the Town of Greenwich to eliminate excessive runoff and eroded sediments into the Mianus River on River Road in Cos Cob where a parking spaces on the shoulder of the road are immediately adjacent to the river. We are concerned aquatic habitat is being negatively impacted by the current situation. Mianus River Watershed Council Receives Grant for $6,000 for an underwater video camera to count fish at the Mianus River Fishway near US Rt. 1, owned and operated by the Town of Greenwich and Volunteers. Videos of fish passing through the fishway will eventually be viewable in real time and favorite archive videos will also be available for viewing. October 2008.
Mianus River Watershed Council Receives Grant for $5000 from CT DEP to identify priority properties to protect and to expand of the Mianus River Greenway. The "must protect" list of properties will be presented to land use planners/decisionmakers in the municipalities and to the local land preservation trusts to initiate a dialog and strategic agenda for land protection/preservation. - June 6, 2008.
